Vision
Department of Environmental Science, Government College Kullu offers a basic course on Environment Science at undergraduate level as a part of Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (AECC) which envisages inculcating the basic knowledge for holistic understanding of the environment and helps develop leadership to build a sustainable, environment-friendly world. The induction of Environment Science as an Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course (AECC) with an objective to provide students with a foundational understanding of environmental concepts, challenges and solutions by enhancing environmental literacy among them. The basic aim of the subject is to make environment education an ever-evolving endeavour that upholds the national vision of skill-oriented education, inspires innovation, and synthesizes the pertinent goals of sustainable development and equitability, while nurturing core human values, including a regenerative connect with the environment. The faculty encourages students to actively participate in seminars, quizzes, and other events highlighting problems and solutions pertaining to environment. The students are encouraged for critical thinking and analysis with the Mantra of “Think global, Act local”.
