The Gender Sensitization Cell of the college has been designed to teach the value of gender equality among students so that they can identify the areas of gender discrimination raise their voices against gender discrimination and work towards making the society gender neutral. Gender Sensitization Cell aims to promote and encourage a general understanding of gender-related challenges. It also aims to show how values and norms influence our reality, reinforce stereotypes and support the structures that produce inequalities.

The main objective of the Gender Sensitization cell is:

• To sensitize students about gender rights, gender roles and relations.
• To make students aware and capable of realizing their true potential.
• To ensure equal participation of men and women in all economic, social and political processes.
• To develop gender perspective to transform the mindset of society.
• To make young boys and girls gender sensitive and create positive values that support the girls and their rights.
• To provide overall guidance to the peer group in integrating/mainstreaming gender in all activities of the Institution in the form of focused group discussions, debates, poster-making competitions etc.
• To provide an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to understanding the social and cultural constructions of gender that shape the experiences of women and men in society.
• To generate awareness regarding equality in law, social system and democratic activities.
• To instil positive values to erase biases in the young developing minds as they progress towards a fair and unbiased society.
• To appreciate the fact that the rights of every woman are as important as her male counterpart.
• To create an inclusive gender-diverse workplace with fair practices.
• To work towards modifying behaviour by raising awareness of gender equality concerns.
